ICED Presents Annual Seminar Series Part I
A New Law for People with Disabilities: What will it mean to you?
The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act explained by attorney
Gerard Broeker of the Statewide Independent Living Council. This
Act broadens the definition of “disability, ” covering more individuals.

This law, effective January 1, 2009, will affect the rights of employees and
the responsibilities of employers. Employees with disabilities, EEO/AA
Officers,
ADA Coordinators and Personnel Officers, should all attend to learn
about this law.
ICED will present a seminar series for FY09 rather than a
one-time conference. The
sessions are free, and no registration is necessary. You must have
identification to enter the conference locations.
Any necessary accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter, captioning
or Braille materials, should be requested by January 28, 2009, by contacting
Susan Allen (information at ICED below). If captioning is requested, it will
be available through videoconferencing and streaming.
